a5c7b9f00b A Texas Ranger is in hot pursuit of the infamous Gecko brothers and their hostages. They all end up trapped in a desert bar secretly run by vampires and discover a vampire conspiracy. If you like shows such"Charmed" and "Buffy" you may also like this,it is basically a bloodier version, with similarly awful dialog, wooden acting, slow pace, and mind-numbing predictability. I hated this show.

On the other hand, the movie of the same name is fantastic and in a completely different league. Watch the movie instead.

p.s. this TV show does contain a mention of a Big Kahuna burger (don't worry, this is not a spoiler, it is irrelevant to the plot) in a lame attempt to remind us that the movie starred Quentin Tarantino. Maybe the show's producers don't care that the burger was famously mentioned in Pulp Fiction and not Dusk Till Dawn, but I do care: if you are going to make references, for goodness sake make the effort to get them right. From Dusk to Dawn was an annoying movie, containing a brilliant, first half - a gritty crime drama - and then taking a bizarre left turn into the supernatural, though an entirely different movie had been grafted on.

The series essentially fixed the movie's problems. It retained the gritty intensity, but it introduced the supernatural early, rather than springing it on the viewer in mid-stride, and the result was very satisfying.

The second season was a continuation of the first, but was decidedly a lesser creation. There was a lot of weirdness in the first season, with strange visions and a lot of weirdness, and in season 2 most of that's gone, making it basically a standard crime show with vampires. While I made it to the end of the season, I found myself increasingly disinterested, and didn't even bother checking out season three.

Rating is for season 1. That's well worth watching. After that, I wouldn't bother.
